Great news!!
Whilst Spotted Whistling Ducks have been seen on and off for several years now on the Daintree River, this is the first time the local tour operators have seen a family group. 5 youngsters - very exciting!
Both Daintree River Wildwatch and Daintree Boatman have been sharing this great family with their guests on the Daintree River in the past few days.

Other great birds in Daintree include Papuan Frogmouth with young, Wompoo Fruit-Dove with young, Double-eyed Fig-Parrot, Little Kingfisher and Channel-billed Cuckoo.
Blue-faced Honeyeater are still in town and there are loads of Rainbow Bee-eater and Forest Kingfisher feeding on insects throughout the valley.
The ‘wet’ season seems to have finally finished and we are experiencing clear, sunny days and cool nights followed by misty early mornings. A lovely time of year.
